The different PLWin packages:

Full PLT Package:

The Office version consists of all necessary database, data input, editing and output modules of the PLWin programs as well as the complete set of PLT modules. It allows data input from and output to ASCII, LAS and LIS formats and includes the Multiphase Flow Interpretation, Multiphase Inflow Curves, Flow Estimation from Temperature as well as Selective Inflow Performance modules.

Full PLT package and Pulsed Neutron Package:

The package consists of all database, data input, editing and output modules of the PLWin programs as well as the complete set of PLT and Pulsed Neutron modules. It allows data input from and output to ASCII and LAS formats. LIS formats are optional at extra cost.
The modules additionally provided to the full PLT package are:
Pulsed Neutron modules, Crossplot, Histogram.

Field version:

For clients having purchased or leased either the full PLT package or the PLT with Pulsed Neutron version, a Field version is also offered.

The Field version consists of most database, data input, editing and output modules of the PLWin programs. Most PLT modules are included with the exception of the PVT, multiphase flow, other PLT interpretation and Selective Inflow Performance modules. It allows data input from and output to ASCII and LAS format and complete PLT data handling, spinner/cable speed plots and computation of the apparent velocity and total flow rate curves at reservoir conditions.
The modules not provided from the full PLT package are:

PVT, Multiphase Flow, Multiphase Inflow Curves, Flow Estimation from Temperature and Selective Inflow Performance.

PLWin Cased Hole Interpretation Package Features

  • for Windows XP / NT / Vista / Windows 7 / Windows 8 based systems, written in C++, interactive, graphics oriented, quick and user friendly.
  • Program methodology has been used in our DOS programs since 1988, giving good practical results without hidden data manipulations for complete PLT interpretations, including SIP and TDT interpretations.
  • Very short training time required (usually a few hours for Reservoir or Production Engineers).
  • Data processing tasks up to the provisional interpretation results can be handled by technicians.
  • Full range of database, data input, data edit and data output program modules provided.
  • PL and Thermal Decay tools of all major Service Companies included, also Schlumberger FSI and Sondex MAPS tools.
  • PL Set-up program defines for semi-automatic processing PL run number, tool type (user definable), sensor types and mnemonics, units, well conditions (flow rate) and reservoir interpretation zones.
  • Fast data read-in / renaming of all PLT or TDT passes from ASCII, LAS and LIS files.
  • Automatic plotting of all curve data by well condition allows quick look of all passes on screen or PDF files.
  • Different plot depth scales including full scale and fit to printer page, screen plot scrolling.
  • Cased hole header with custom logo, optional remarks file, tool sketch for continuous API log data plotting.
  • Interactive block depth shift or depth shift of all curves by log pass, block depth shift by sensor type.
  • Lateral averaging of all selected sensor data by well condition, optionally with curve combinations depending on depth.
  • Interactive curve editing and filtering with preview option. Filtering of all curves by log pass.
  • Correct input and output curves automatically selected / created by all PLWin program modules.
  • Spinner data:
    • Up to 20 calibration zones and 2 different spinners per well condition, selected interactively,
    • Automatic scaling of the spinner/cable speed plots,
    • Normalisation of slopes of different calibration zones, data points can be disabled,
    • Weighing of different spinner/cable speed pairs for computation of best apparent velocity curve.
  • PVT properties:
    • Actual field PVT properties used (Fluid densities, gas/oil ratios, viscosities, formation volume factors): PVT 'fields', Standard correlations, Condensate option and PVT look-up tables available.
  • Multiphase flow interpretation:
    • Models for all fluid combinations (water/oil/gas) provided, up to 30 reservoir zones supported.
    • Casing ID or caliper curve, deviation value or curve used.
    • Reynold's number dependent correction CRE (VMIX = CRE * VAPP) is also based on casing and spinner blade size and is computed at every level.
    • Density corrections (for deviation, friction, kinetic effects and shift) are provided for all tools.
    • Water hold-up meter data is handled as tool response with in-situ calibration points and charts in form of editable look-up tables. DEFT, GHOST and Capacitance Array tool hold-up options are included.
    • Oil/water and gas/water interpretation can be based on density or hold-up meter data.
    • Slippage velocity correlation for vertical and deviated wells provided, based on interpretation of large numbers of actual field data sets, matching PVT parameters and surface rates.
    • For mixtures with gas four flow regimes are programmed: bubble, slug, froth and mist flow.
    • The flowmap is based on the published theories and observations of Dukler.
    • Averaged data from interactively chosen calculation zones associated with reservoir zones used for the calculation of zonal flow results, matching of PVT parameters and surface rates advised.
    • Optional multiphase inflow curves and optional multiphase flow curves from temperature.
    • Listings per flowrate (with up to 10 reservoir zones per page) comprise:
      • Normalised spinner/cable speed plot.
      • Spinner slopes, weightings and thresholds for apparent velocity (VAPP) computation.
      • Multiphase flow results:
        • Surface production, well and tool characteristics, input curve data and all corrections.
        • Zonal PVT fluid parameters and zonal curve input data (optionally edited).
        • Cumulative water, oil and gas flowrates at reservoir and surface conditions for all zones.
        • Zonal water, oil and gas flow rates at reservoir and surface conditions in field units and percentages of total, phase and zonal flow.
        • Automatic plotting of zonal multiphase and of continuous flow result curves with pass data.
  • User defined result curve display of averages, flow curves, comparison of different well conditions and runs, inclusion of open hole CPI results and other curves for page or continuous paper plots.
  • Selective Inflow Performance, including datum computations and complete TDT program suite.
  • Fast data export with curve descriptions of all passes and results to ASCII, LAS and LIS files
